This is the stained-glass dome inside the Christian County Courthouse in Taylorville. For decades, the glass ceiling had been shielded from view by a false ceiling. A restoration project completed in 2009 removed the false ceiling and restored the glass to its original appearance.

Taylorville is the seat of Christian County, and is located about 25 miles SE of Springfield. The population of Taylorville was 11,427 at the 2000 census.

You are invited to stay and browse through my photostream. Here’s a quick index to my Flickr site:

Central Illinois (except Springfield)
: Central Illinois (except Springfield): Photos relating to the middle section of the "Land of Lincoln" (except for the Capital City of Springfield) may be found in this collection. Every city and town I’ve photographed is contained within its own set, and rural (as in "counrtyside") photographs are grouped by county.

Springfield, Illinois
: All of my photographs of Springfield and the Abraham Lincoln Sites are in this collection. For the City of Springfield, there are separate sets for the Capitol Complex, Downtown (including the Old State Capitol), Neighborhoods, Parks, Illinois State Fairgrounds (and past State Fairs), and more. Photographs of Lincoln sites include the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum, Lincoln Home National Historic Site, Lincoln Tomb, and so on. Also in the Lincoln "All About Abe" (Set) are a few Lincoln sites not located in Springfield.

Beyond Central Illinois
: Other locales in the United States and Canada including New York, Chicago, San Francisco and Seattle.

In addition to my location-based sets, here are links to some "topical" collections and sets I’ve put together:

Automobile Photograph Collection
: This is a very large collection of images whose primary, but not exclusive, focus is on American automotive classics. Images are organized by decade, by manufacturer, and by topics (such as convertibles, station wagons, muscle cars, etc.)

Barbers & Barber Shops
: Traditional barbers and barber shops are on the endangered species list. But there are still plenty to be found if you go looking for them.

Almost Everything Else. Check It Out!!!
: Included topics range from man’s first walk on the moon to small town schools and churches, and from Soft-Coated Wheaten Terriers (our favorite breed) to things that are abandoned, neglected, weathered, or rusty.

There is plenty of information available that will show you how to build up muscle mass. Once you have decided to build muscle mass, you should commit yourself to learning as much as possible about the physical needs of your body. This article can help you get started quickly.

A lot of people try to workout too quickly. Regardless of the specific exercise that you are doing, performing your repetitions slower, while focusing on your technique, will provide significantly better results than trying to do the same number of repetitions as quickly as possible. Take all the time you need and make sure you perform the exercises like you should.

Try to change your routine. After you have been working out for a bit of time, you might find that you are bored with your routine. This can cause you to lose motivation and even stop working out all together. Use different exercises every couple workouts to ensure that you are targeting all of your muscle groups. By doing this, you will stay motivated and exercise at optimal levels.

Don’t work out for longer than an hour. After you have worked out for sixty minutes, your body starts to produce a stress hormone called cortisol. Cortisol has been shown to block testosterone, reducing the results you achieve. Making sure workouts don’t go over one hour is the perfect way to optimize your fitness plan.

One of the most important things you can do to aid in muscle building is to stretch after working out. Hold a stretch for about thirty seconds if you are under forty years old. Someone over forty should try to stretch for about 60 seconds. Following these guidelines will help prevent injuries after muscle-building exercises.

Try to create a body that looks bigger than your body may actually be. This is accomplished by focusing your attention on developing your upper chest, shoulders and upper back. Building these muscle groups will also make your waist appear smaller.

Good hydration is critical to muscle building success. If you are not keeping yourself well hydrated with water, there is a good chance that you would injure your muscles or yourself. Additionally, hydration has a role both in maintaining and increasing muscle mass, which is why it is vital for a lot of reasons.

Make sure that you are taking in enough calories each day to achieve muscle growth. You can find caloric calculators online which can help you plan out a diet which will meet your needs depending on how much muscle you’re trying to build. Chose the calculator that you like the best, and then change up your diet if you need to so that you are getting the right amount of carbohydrates, protein, and other nutrients that you need.

It’s OK to cheat every now and then to get all you can out of your workouts. While you are trying to finish some extra reps, you can use only a little bit of your body if it will help you get it done. This will help you to increase how much you are working out. Just be careful that you don’t cheat too often. Make sure to perform all your reps at a controlled speed. Be sure not to compromise your form.

One deterrent of successful muscle-building can be slow-growing muscle groups. To target these areas, try using a fill set. A fill set is a short set targeting the problem muscle groups a few days after they were last worked out hard.

As mentioned earlier, it is important to know what your body needs in order to transform it properly. See to it that you educate yourself on how to build muscle the right way. This advice can help you to reach your muscle building goals faster, without sacrificing your health.
